"Selling your home is a big deal. Making sure you get the most back on your investment is important."

If you have decided to sell your home you are probably wondering what to do to get the most profit. Here are 5 tips for getting the most out of selling your home.

1. Spruce Up The Exterior

The exterior of the home is the first thing buyers see. You want to make sure it is as presentable as it can be. Sprucing up includes landscaping and exterior painting. If you don’t want to spend money on painting it, a quick power wash will help revamp the exterior of your home.

2. Understand Your Local Market

When there are more houses for sale than there are buyers in your area, this may bring your property down in price. On the other hand, when there are more buyers than there are properties for sale, you could get your home sold for way over asking which puts more money in your pocket. Paying attention to these “real estate trends” could either make or break your bank.

3. Basic Updates

If you aren’t interested in updating your interior, it is important to make sure your HVAC, roof, water heater, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, electrical panel and circuit breakers are all uptodate.

4. Set The Right Price

If you don’t do any updates on your home at all, make sure you understand the amount those repairs will cost and set your price accordingly. On the contrary, if you have done all the updates required plus a little extra, make sure your home is set at the “post remodel” price.

5. Declutter and De-bug

The last thing you want is someone to walk into your property and it be a disaster. An even worse scenario is having interested purchasers walk in or around your property and see bugs or rodents.

Selling your home is a big deal. Making sure you get the most back on your investment is important. Following these 5 steps can help make sure that happens for you!
